Sudden Shift

Sudden Shift tests your reflexes when the ice starts to move. Chase the glow, dodge the fakes, and keep your streak alive as the pressure builds. Miss too many times, and your shift is over.

How to play

A 3-minute run on a pond at night. Move your puck onto the glowing targets before their rings run out, and keep away from anything red and spiky. Collect in a row to build your combo up to x4. Hazards cost half a heart, and every 10 collects in a row wins a heart back. Six 30-second levels add new targets: gold sprints, drifters, numbered chains, gates and dangle zones you fill by stickhandling inside them. Then sweeping beams, and finally a snowman defender who chases you.

What it trains

Reaching to the puck quickly, reacting to what appears, and controlling the puck with your head up, reading the screen instead of your stick.

Power-ups and worlds

Pond Night: an outdoor rink under the stars. Two boss drills: the chain gauntlet at the end of level 3, and the defender drill in level 6. Power-ups: Magnet (bigger targets that drift to you), Slow-mo, Shield, Frenzy (the ice floods with double-value targets once your combo reaches 7) and Clock (+10 seconds, up to +30 a run).
