About PuckLab

PuckLab is a hockey stickhandling training game. A phone or tablet on a tripod watches a real puck or ball, and a TV, tablet or second phone runs arcade games you control by stickhandling.

We’re a Canadian company.

Our founder

PuckLab was started by Adam St. John, who has been playing hockey for more than 30 years and still laces up in beer league every week he can.

Today Adam coaches minor hockey: he’s coached at the competitive level for more than five years, behind the bench for his two daughters, who both play competitive hockey. Coaching taught him what every hockey parent knows. The players who improve fastest are the ones who put in reps away from the rink, and those reps only happen when they’re fun.

Adam has also spent more than 25 years as a software engineer. PuckLab is where the two meet: games that turn a puck, a stick and the devices already in your home into practice that kids and adults look forward to.

When he isn’t building PuckLab, you’ll find him at the rink.

What we believe

  • Practice at home should feel like play.
  • Use the phone and TV you already have: no extra hardware to buy.
  • Kids’ privacy comes first. Puck detection runs on the device, no video is recorded or uploaded, and there are no ads.
